Butterfly Dream — Dreaming Chrysalis 6

Makoto: Look at us, running a fool’s errand…
In any case, after getting in contact with Anzu… Onee-sama, we were able to ascertain what company is responsible for cleaning the nap room.
With that information, we determined where the waste will be brought and disposed of.
We also determined the route of the waste collection vehicle, so if we manage to catch up, we should be able to explain the situation and get our hands on the pillow.
Once we do that, we can put this situation behind us at last.
Tsukasa: Yep. Luckily, Yuuki-senp— I mean, I’m good at that kind of information gathering stuff. It really is a practical skill to have, huh?
I guess there’s no situation where all hope is lost.
Makoto: … Uhh, just a thought, but the other two went ahead by bike, so they’re pretty far ahead now—
We don’t really have to keep the act up now, do we?
Tsukasa: Ah, I suppose that’s true.
Makoto: Well, we’re not totally in the clear till we get the pillow back and pretend to turn back to normal.
So we gotta make sure we don’t fumble the act so Izumi-san doesn’t catch on.
Tsukasa: That’s true. I have utterly no experience in acting…
I’ve already made several blunders today, so I’d prefer to keep acting as Yuuki-senpai until we manage to “turn back to normal”.
I’m not capable of changing on the fly, just as Sena-senpai isn’t.
You’re much more impressive in that regard, Yuuki-senpai… It truly seemed like you became a completely different person, despite knowing the truth of the matter myself.
It was as if your personality had completely changed. … Does Trickstar partake in such work?
Makoto: Nope. Most of Yumenosaki’s idols focus most of their effort on lives, and I don’t have much experience myself.
But I might get an offer to show up in a TV show or movie one day, so I’d like to brush up my skills.
Hehe. That’s why this was such a good experience for me.
Tsukasa: I feel the same way. I’m not used to speaking in such a casual manner the way Yuuki-senpai does, so I was quite nervous…
“Is this not a rude way to address other people?”, and such.
Makoto: Ahaha, I’m guessing you had a pretty strict upbringing, Suou-kun.
Personally, I felt super out of place speaking so formally, so I thought I’d slip up. I’m sure a pro would think I suck at this too.
Tsukasa: No, your performance was utterly flawless. I’m almost envious.
I’m aware I have a rather strong disdain for you all, but… could you really be so talented?
Makoto: Nah, it’s probably more thanks to my past experiences.
I take roleplaying pretty seriously when playing video games, and when I was modeling I had to give exactly the look they wanted, so… I just got used to this kinda thing.
Tsukasa: There’s no need to be so humble. … Speaking of which, I recall that you worked as a model with Sena-senpai when you were younger.
You’ve been in the entertainment industry for quite a while, have you not? Your seniority is nothing to scoff at.
Makoto: Nah~ I spent a couple years not modeling, ya see? Plus, I barely did any meaningful activities during my first year.
I’m sure by the time you were the age I was modeling, you were already doing all sorts of lessons.
Your family seems pretty elite after all… I’m sure all those experiences—everything will help us grow as idols.
But well… we can’t help comparing ourselves to others, and getting down about not having the same gifts.
Tsukasa: Of course. It goes without saying, but nothing good comes from wishing to switch bodies with another—no matter how much one prays, a human cannot turn into a butterfly.
All children will become adults with time, and all caterpillars will become either butterflies or moths.

Tsukasa: C’mon, this way! The truck’s stuck at a light, so let’s push the pedal!
Darn, just how’d we end up in this kinda mess…?

Even if a dream blinds us to such an insipid truth for a moment… it will never be more than that—a dream.
