How’ve you been finding the headquarters? You’ve already met everyone from the 13th gen, right? Haha, all of them are so much fun, aren't they?
Have you gotten used to life in New Million yet? Well, you just got stationed here, so there’s probably tons you still don’t know.
That’s why today will be dedicated to showing you around the city of New Million. The one leading you will be yours truly, Nova Summerfield, the director of the research department.
You’re gonna have to put up with me for a while, so thanks for your cooperation in advance~
For starters, let me give New Million a brief introduction. New Million is a city that countless people look up to, and is known as “the city where a million dreams come true”.
A lot of tourists come to visit, so it’s bursting with activity all year long.
This place used to be a plain old city called “Million”, but everything changed after the Substance fell from the sky 50 years ago.
Since it’s shaped like a rock, we first thought it was a comet. But upon inspection, we found out that it’s actually a high energy material.
Earth’s energy resources had been steadily drying up, so suddenly gaining this substance was beyond our wildest dreams. However, it also had the power to cause natural disasters like heavy storms and earthquakes, and wreaked havoc on the city using something akin to psychokinesis.
Bottom line: it caused all kinds of disasters.
Hoping to do something about that very substance, people like you and me rose together to form Helios.
Helios gathered researchers from around the globe to study the substance, who succeeded in extracting energy from inside the rocks.
Then, we managed to administer that energy to humans, who became heroes wielding supernatural powers.
These heroes' powers became our sole way of dealing with the substance, and we saw a dramatic increase in how fast substance was collected.
Using the energy collected from the substance, Million experienced explosive growth and was reborn as New Million.
But with the substance being some mystery energy source from space and all, there's still a ton of things we don't know about it, even 50 years later.
We researchers have conducted countless experiments with little to show for it.
Substance is usually buried underground as a rock, but its strange power will manifest itself by coming to the surface and causing incidents in the surrounding area.
There are a lot of patterns to the damage caused by substance, and the rock itself has these small groupings that—
